First, we are a collection of people - diverse and imperfect but increasingly excited about the journey we are on. We sense that God (the 'Father') has laid on our hearts a desire and a vision to become more fully human...and to be good news in a fractured and bruised world. Christians believe that Jesus shows us how to live a fully human life and we are called to become like him in character and in action.

So we seek to reshape ourselves to more intentionally live lives of radical love as seen in the life of Jesus Christ, humbly and dependent on God's empowering presence (in the person of the Holy Spirit).

In our sacred texts, contained in the Bible, we discover everyone is created in the image of God and therefore everyone is of infinite worth. We seek to become totally inclusive and to remove all barriers to church life so that everyone has the chance to reach their full God-given potential, regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs, sexuality, abilities or wealth.

Second, we are stewards of an amazing building - the largest 18th century parish church which, in the words of our Vicar (parish priest), is ‘blingtastic'! The church has a number of historic treasures as well as a visual feast of a Byzantine basilica style interior.

We hope you will find a warm and generous welcome here at St Mary's.
